The Biography of “Kello Aman”
Producer, Writer, Vocalist, Entertainer, Musician and Poet
Who is
“Kello Aman”?
“Kello Aman” was born in Los
Angeles, California to a very religious and musical family.
“Kello’s” love for music was not
just limited to singing and playing the guitar, but includes the ability to play
Bass Guitar, Keyboards, Organ, Trumpet, Saxophone, Trombone, Percussion, Drums,
Writing, Producing and Entertaining.
After years of studying and dreaming about the
music industry,
“Kello” set out to make his
dreams a reality.
“Kello’s”
journey started with a group called “The Gentlemen”, next on the journey was a
national recording deal with RCA. Although the group dissolved a few years
later,
“Kello” did not give up on his
dreams.
“Kello” moved to the Twin Cities
of St. Paul/Minneapolis, Minnesota because he felt that the music coming out of
there was hot and fresh.
Shortly after relocating to the Twin Cities
“Kello” landed another major recording deal this time a little sweeter
than before.
This deal included a Production and a Publishing deal with
recording giant Columbia Records.
Under this agreement,
“Kello” would develop and record new talent as well as his own act
“Centerfold”. “Kello”
admits that being as young as he was, producing and recording on this level was
a bit overwhelming.
So when the deal ended with Columbia/Sony,
“Kello” went on to work with the
world famous ‘Harlem Globetrotters’.
“Kello” and best friend ‘Chance Howard’ (Prince, The Time and Candy Dulfer)
inked the deal with the Harlem Globetrotters to become their first independent
Music Producers and Song Writers in the Globetrotters Organization.
The union with the Globetrotters, allowed
“Kello” to launch his own management
and production company. Soon after,
“Kello” began to sign artists to
A&M Records and publishing deals with Sony/ATV.
“Kello Aman’s”
discography includes but not limited to such albums as: 2009 – his own solo
debut CD ‘Blues, Sex & Real Talk’, 2003 – Best of James Grear & Company, 2002 –
Saga of a Married Man ‘Alexander O’Neal’, 2001 – Unsigned Twin Cities ‘Various
Artists’, 2000
– The Next Level ‘James Grear’, 1999 – Pure Gospel Vol. II ‘Various Artists’,
1998 – Don’t Give Up ‘James Grear’.
“Kello”
has worked with artists such as: Prince, Mint Condition, Next, Jimmy Jam & Terry
Lewis, Peabo Bryson, Alexander O’Neal, Twinkie Clark-Terrell, Donald Lawrence &
the Tri-City Singers, Whitefield Company, Todays Generation, A.L. Jinwright Mass
Choir, Derrick Starks, Annetta Murrell-Crooms, Twanzette Henson, Brian Nielsen,
Chance Howard, Icon, Ann Nesby, The Sound of Blackness, The Gentlemen and
Centerfold. Now “Kello” is singing
the music that is dear and close to his heart “The Blues”.
When asked why the Blues after his success in
mainstream, “Kello” responds
“Because the Blues is the most diverse music in the world, it is organic, it
speaks to the soul and everyday people with everyday problems and everyday
circumstances. And that the Blues only asks of its participants is to be real
and sincere.”
