The Biography of “Kello Aman”

Producer, Writer, Vocalist, Entertainer, Musician and Poet

Who is “Kello Aman”? “Kello Aman” was born in Los Angeles, California to a very religious and musical family.  “Kello’s” love for music was not just limited to singing and playing the guitar, but includes the ability to play Bass Guitar, Keyboards, Organ, Trumpet, Saxophone, Trombone, Percussion, Drums, Writing, Producing and Entertaining.  After years of studying and dreaming about the music industry, “Kello” set out to make his dreams a reality.

“Kello’s” journey started with a group called “The Gentlemen”, next on the journey was a national recording deal with RCA. Although the group dissolved a few years later, “Kello” did not give up on his dreams. “Kello” moved to the Twin Cities of St. Paul/Minneapolis, Minnesota because he felt that the music coming out of there was hot and fresh.  Shortly after relocating to the Twin Cities “Kello” landed another major recording deal this time a little sweeter than before.  This deal included a Production and a Publishing deal with recording giant Columbia Records.  Under this agreement, “Kello” would develop and record new talent as well as his own act “Centerfold”.   “Kello” admits that being as young as he was, producing and recording on this level was a bit overwhelming.  So when the deal ended with Columbia/Sony, “Kello” went on to work with the world famous ‘Harlem Globetrotters’. “Kello” and best friend ‘Chance Howard’ (Prince, The Time and Candy Dulfer) inked the deal with the Harlem Globetrotters to become their first independent Music Producers and Song Writers in the Globetrotters Organization.  The union with the Globetrotters, allowed “Kello” to launch his own management and production company. Soon after, “Kello” began to sign artists to A&M Records and publishing deals with Sony/ATV.

“Kello Aman’s” discography includes but not limited to such albums as: 2009 – his own solo debut CD ‘Blues, Sex & Real Talk’, 2003 – Best of James Grear & Company, 2002 – Saga of a Married Man ‘Alexander O’Neal’, 2001 – Unsigned Twin Cities ‘Various Artists’,  2000 – The Next Level ‘James Grear’, 1999 – Pure Gospel Vol. II ‘Various Artists’, 1998 – Don’t Give Up ‘James Grear’.  “Kello” has worked with artists such as: Prince, Mint Condition, Next, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Peabo Bryson, Alexander O’Neal, Twinkie Clark-Terrell, Donald Lawrence & the Tri-City Singers, Whitefield Company, Todays Generation, A.L. Jinwright Mass Choir, Derrick Starks, Annetta Murrell-Crooms, Twanzette Henson, Brian Nielsen, Chance Howard, Icon, Ann Nesby, The Sound of Blackness, The Gentlemen and Centerfold. Now “Kello” is singing the music that is dear and close to his heart “The Blues”.  When asked why the Blues after his success in mainstream, “Kello” responds “Because the Blues is the most diverse music in the world, it is organic, it speaks to the soul and everyday people with everyday problems and everyday circumstances. And that the Blues only asks of its participants is to be real and sincere.”  Open up your mind, heart and ears to “Kello Aman” and his ‘Smooth’, ‘Cool’ and ‘Classy’ flavor of the Blues.
